Another vintage cover that highlights the dearth of imagination besetting the fashion magazine industry. Airbrushed portraits of popular movie stars may sell more magazines, but offer little in the way of memorable artistic statements.  It’s hard to envision any current magazine opting for a cover as daring, memorable–and, yes, beautiful–as this 1945 issue of Vogue.
